Consider ca aceste doua internshipuri m-au invatat mai mult decat m-au invatat anii la facultate si asta pentru ca traind intr-un alt mediu, printre oameni cu totul diferiti si cu o cultura extrem de diferita (choar daca toti suntem europeni) te face sa-ti dezvolti o multitudine de skill-uri! De la socializare pana la profesionalism in ceea ce faci in acel internship. Atat experienta mea in Praga cat si cea din Regensburg m-au ajutat sa ma dezvolt ca om si ca angajat, sa interactionez foarte usor cu diferiti oameni de diferite varste si culturi, sa fiu responsabila, organizata, creativa si un bun manager al activitatilor mele. Cu siguranta ca aceste tipuri de exchange iti ofera mult mai multe lucruri de invatat decat cele care aproape ca nu iti sunt ferite in tara dar dupa care trebuie sa te zbati fiindca sunt obligatorii pentru facultate. Oameni profesionisti de la care sa inveti pe parcursul unui internship gasesti atat in tara cat si afara prin intermediul AIESEC, dar cei care au curajul sa accepte aceasta provocare pe care AIESEC o ofera cu siguranta ca au deja un avantaj si acesta este faptul ca au avut curajul sa se rupa de lumea lor si sa traiasca intr-o cu totul alta lume.”

1)First of all, tell us when and why you joined AIESEC?

I joined AIESEC in November 2010 on the Talent Management Area, after having a lot of jobs during high school like writing and reporting news for the local newspaper, doing samplings for diverse products, doing handmade jewelry for craftsmen fairs and so on, all just to gather some pocket money However, I felt somehow that I was able to do more than these simple things, but it wasn’t clear for me what. In my second year of university, I discovered AIESEC by reading a flyer. At first I was skeptical when I read that you develop your leadership potential. I didn’t even know at that time what leadership is. But then, I’ve attended a presentation and I heard from real people great stories about their AIESEC Experience and I said to myself “AIESEC is for me. I don’t want to waste my time anymore in little activities just for some money, I want to grow, to use my determination for a bigger goal”.

2) What determined you to apply for a CEED? Cultural Envoy for Exchange Development

My dream of becoming a CEEDer started when I was team-leader of Local Trainers Team Core. Then, one of the most important responsibility was to make members of AIESEC Bucharest be aware of how changing and wonderful this kind of experience is. By promoting diverse CEEDership opportunities, in my heart the idea of myself taking advantage of it was born.

Secondly, my motivation came from the feeling of having a lot to offer, to give back, from the desire to take all my experience and knowledge about Talent Development Systems and use it at a higher level, to make a difference in other people’s life, in AIESEC organizations in the world.

 3) In what country have you been and for how long?

I’ve been in Northern Cyprus for 1 month and 3 weeks, in AIESEC Eastern Mediterranean Local Committee.

4) How about the financial part? Did you make it out?

They provided me accommodation and 200 $ for buying food. So I’ve spent money only on the ticket flight.

5) What exactly did you do back there?

My CEEDership role was to offer support for the elected VP Talent Development for 2012-2013 term by sharing my knowledge and experience that I’ve gained in AIESEC Bucharest in implementing HR processes.

I delivered AIESEC Introduction Meetings in the 4 biggest universities from Northern Cyprus in order to convince students to apply for TMP, TLP, GCDP and GIP. I’ve created along with the Marketing Area a professional communication plan for future recruitments. I’ve created the agenda for the Induction period and I delivered sessions within it. I organised and delivered a Romanian Night presentation which was built in order to determine students to come in our country for a GCDP or a GIP. I’ve implemented Job Descriptions for each Team Member and Team Leader position and a booklet for the Local Committee regarding the recruitment process. Also, my biggest achievement was related to implementing a strong preparation for the recruiters correlated with our current Global Competency Model.

6) Tell us about the culture of the exchange country. Is there something that impressed or shocked you the most?

I arrived in the Northern Cyprus at midnight! The first thing I've felt here was the revitalizing air that I breathed and a strange yet positive energy.

I still remember very clear those two and trough them I define Northern Cyprus in myself. I really liked the campus of Eastern Mediterrannean University where AIESEC has its office and I recognise with all my strenght the beauty of the mediterranean water. Also, I was very interested in the Turkish culture, in trying different kinds of food, in listening to music and in learning turkish words as well. I think I've learned 50 words in turkish (one per each day I enjoyed working there).

7) Do you still keep in touch with your exchange team?

I hope that I brought performance as an intern and made the boys of the Executive Board be proud of me. Every time we speak, we still finish our conversation with the melancholic word “see you”.

8) If you could change one thing from this experience that would be?

For me volunteering has a mean of self-discovery. At the same time, it is one way of making a difference for the people around me, and not only for me. I was really glad when I saw that the elected Executive Board - 7, only boys - encouraged me to innovate and to take initiative in AIESEC Eastern Mediterranean Local Committee. If I could change something regarding this experience, I would add more months to  it in order to enjoy the growth I’ve contributed to.
